Little Stuff vs. Big Stuff

little stuff

“We don’t fight about the big stuff”, they said.

We see eye to eye on the big stuff, we do so well.”

Little Stuff, Big Stuff – The BIG Stuff First

Like buying a van for the family when expecting.

Agreeing on the color for the bathroom remodel.

Or buying a new piece of furniture that you both have been wanting and you both enjoy.

“That’s fantastic,” I say in response.

I am happy to hear that, don’t get me wrong.

Truly.

And I even encourage them to celebrate.

Because – all that – those are wins.

I always want you to celebrate your wins.

Big Stuff – The REALITY

But here’s the thing.

How often do you find yourself needing to purchase a new vehicle?

Once every, what – 5-7 years?

How about looking for a new bed or couch?

Unless you are one of those people that re-decorate every couple of years, you go couch shopping once a decade.

Remodels? Same-ish time frame.

Am I right?

So while you are getting all the benefit of those conversations going well, they only happen at that reduced frequency.

The LITTLE Stuff – And the Trouble

The little things, though.

THEY happen every day, multiple times a day – and then – make THAT times seven days a week.

You see where this is going?

So, let’s figure out how to NOT die of the death by a thousand cuts on the daily and get you out of this mess.

That, my friends, is why we talk about the little things.

Are there some that you can let go of?

Of course.

I know there are.

I help sort through them so that you know which is which.

For the ones that you can’t do that with – we learn a process.

A process that lets you understand what’s underneath it all no matter what the issue that’s on the table.

A process that lets you walk away from the situation having arrived at this place I call – in really professional terms (not) – “WE ARE GOOD TOGETHER AGAIN.”

Little Stuff — I can help with that

If you’d want to know what that is, call me.

I can help you with that.

As of right now, I do have some openings.
